Cogswell organizes help for Mexicans

Cheryl Cogswell, the owner of Grizzly’s Cafe at the Jasper Park Lodge, has put a call out for people of Jasper, Alberta, to donate essential items to ship to Mexico.  She is looking for things such as pillows, sheets, clothing, toiletries, dry food and candles, wants in the next month or so to acquire about 700 pounds of goods.  They are to go to Majahual, a quaint locale of less than 1,000 residents situated four hours south of Cancun on the Yucatan peninsula.  There, hurricane Dean’s devastation brought high winds and a wave of water that crested more than two storeys high overtook the village, taking with it its beachfront, its pier, nearly every home and all its residents’ worldly possessions.
